"Of the twelve states without the death penalty, ten have murder rates below the national average."

Dennis Kucinich does not support the death penalty and is completely against it.

"Morally, I simply do not believe that we as human beings have the right to 'play God'
and take a human life – especially since our human judgments are fallible and often
wrong. My position on the death penalty is derived from my moral and spiritual convictions."

He introduced legislation to abolish the death penalty. The Federal Death Penalty
Abolition Act of 2005 is currently co-sponsered by 39 members of Congress. They
will put a halt to executions as well as get rid of the death penalty in all supporting
states. There will no longer be a death penalty for any violation of federal law to any
degree if the act passes.
